By: Zykeria Rolle, Junior This is just me virtually conversing with some friends and neighbors about their Quarantine experiences. How does it feel choosing your classes (Subject Selection) for the last time online? Any sentimental value? Bryanna (11th): I had to take it more seriously and it’s harder to ask for help. Scared of the future with lots of APs. No real sentimental value. Camila (11th): The AP stress is unnecessary knowing I’m not interested in economics or political science. Why take a class that I won’t enjoy? This is the last year to be surrounded by my classmates and I want to enjoy my last year at iPrep. Rencher (11th): Surreal. Crazy. Excitement. Last chapter of official mandatory school. Not sad, but excited. I prefer doing it with friends (in-real-life) instead of online. What are your thoughts on Zoom? Do u have any thoughts on Zoom experiences? Bryanna: I like it. The virtual backgrounds are great, but the beginning schedule was kind of weird. Camila: Makes it easier to chat with friends and share ideas. Rencher: Cool. I think I like Zoom. Better than writing an email and I get instant responses. Lucas P. (10th): Not really. Zuri R. (6th): Alright. Sometimes I wake-up late for them. Do you have any thoughts on AP testing? Bryanna: Scary. With an adjusted rubric, colleges might take it less seriously. Camila: The concentration will be a problem at home. The main issue is that it’s home. You either pass or fail. Rencher: Takes a lot of pressure off. Instead of writing three essays, I have to write one. It’s a step up. I guess. Lucas: Stupid method. Easier for sure. How has your family dealt with the outbreak? Symptoms? Bryanna: We’ve bonded over this time: binging shows, cooking, and playing games. Camila: Everything is okay, but boring. Rencher: I don’t want to be home. My parents are good. Lucas: Staying home. Zuri: My aunt got tested, but it came up negative. How is it communicating and interacting with friends? Social Media thoughts? Lucas P.: Not much of a difference. Zuri: The same. We always text through Instagram. Issac P. (College Student): It’s stuff tough (minorly), but texting is still a thing. How does it feel living back with your family after leaving for college? Is college easier online? Issac: It's fine, just a little annoying. Online college is way easier than in-person if you can manage your time properly. How is it spending your last year at iPrep online? Lucas: Fine. I'll miss some people. Our school is online anyway. Name a new/learned activity over the Quarantine break? Lucas: Coding.
Zuri R: Cooking more. Issac: The art of bread making.
